YOUR PASTOR IS GODS GIFT TO YOU
“Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Ephesians 4:8-11
God is the Master Planner. There’s not one plan in the whole world as grandiose and as detailed as Gods plan of Redemption.
Jesus first descended into Hell as Paul mentioned in our text above. He went into hell, discomfiting and disarming Satan and all his demons. He rendered them totally powerless.
He then ascended into heaven to perfect our Redemption by presenting His blood to satisfy the claims of justice.
But Paul adds an extra thought to what He did at His ascension. He gave gifts to men. We know the ultimate gift He gave was that gift of the precious Holy Ghost.
He however established offices in the church, giving them to the saints as gifts.
These offices aren’t equipped of God to be His gifts to the saints.
You see, very few of Gods children all over the world understand this.
Ministers of the Gospel aren’t career holders. It’s not a profession. It’s a calling.
Your pastor isn’t your friend. He isn’t your buddy. In fact, you may be siblings by blood but you need to see him for what God has called him to be.
Paul speaking of our Lord Jesus says “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.” 1 Corinthians 5:16
For the need to be politically correct, not many ministers have magnified their offices. Unfortunately this results in a weak, ineffective church.
Honor is non-existent and certainly there’s little or no demonstration of Gods power.
In Jesus’ hometown, because of familiarity, scripture says “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.” (Mark 6:5)
He couldn’t which means He tried and it failed!
You see, your pastor is anointed for you- not Himself.
He’s Gods gift to you!
Have you and do you receive with honor this gift? Quite unfortunate are those who have refused to be planted in a local church and to have a pastor over them!
They are simply saying they know better than God and they have a better plan for their lives.
Don’t be this person. Be smart!
Receive Gods gift to you today.
Dear Heavenly Father, i thank you for the precious gift that you have sent to me in the person of my Pastor. I recognise the office of the pastor and fully submit to the ministry of my Pastor, for my edification and for my perfection. I take full advantage of this precious ministry gift to me, today and always. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
