WHEN FIRE FINDS A HOME, REVIVAL HAPPENS
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.” Acts 2:1-3
I was in prayer one morning when I heard these words from the Lord, “When fire finds a home, revival happens.”
I believe it. I’m persuaded of it.
You see, all through the Old Testament, there were manifestations of the Spirit of God using different element of nature to depict His character. Many have erroneously thought these manifestations to be the Preincarnate Christ. But that’s untrue.
One such manifestation was with Moses. He was a shepherd leading the flock of Jethro at the backsides of the dessert, having run away from Egypt to escape the wrath of Pharaoh. One day he saw a bush on fire but not being consumed. From the midst of that bush, the angel of the lord spoke to him, giving him his commission to ministry.
That same fire followed him as he led Israel. It was a pillar of cloud by day that stayed above the congregation, insulating them from the scorching dessert sun, illuminating their paths and giving them direction. It became a pillar of fire by night that moved right in front of the people providing them illumination and warding off desert beasts. (Exodus 13:21-22)
This was the same fire that fell from heaven to consume the sacrifices of the patriarchs and prophets.
This fire was the Holy Ghost. And at every opportunity, He fell out of heaven to be with man but it was always an event as there was no home for Him on earth.
Jesus came and by His sacrifice, He recreated our spirits to be a home for this Holy Spirit who loves to manifest as fire!
Little wonder on the day of Pentecost, He appeared to the people as the Fire of God. Now this Fire has found a home. He doesn’t have to fall out of heaven, He is released through us today!
I love the way, The Passion Translation translates our text; “Suddenly they heard the sound of a violent blast of wind rushing into the house from out of the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear! Then all at once a pillar of fire appeared before their eyes. It separated into tongues of fire that engulfed each one of them.” (Acts 2:2-3)
When we receive the Holy Spirit, we received fire. John said Jesus is the baptiser with fire. The same pillar of fire comes to live within us, engulfing us.
That fire burns mightily within you today bringing revival to your world. In one sermon with fire, Peter led thousands to the Lord.
When fire finds a home, revival happens!
Dear Heavenly Father, i thank you for the fire of the Holy Ghost that is burning in me mightily. Through this fire, i birth a revival in my city, in my country and in everyone that is around me. I cause the hearts of men to light up for the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through the winning of souls. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
