THE NAME OF JESUS IS YOURS
“Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Hebrew 1:4
The man Jesus was an enigma. If you lived in his days and times, and heard of what he did and how he lived, chances are that you may think many of his stories were exaggerated.
It’s easier for us to believe and honor Him now because He’s dead.
Imagine that you attended the same Torah classes, fetched water from the same stream every morning… imagine!
And then one day, He says he will be crucified and will raise Himself up again after three days. Now that’s sounds like a man who’s gone totally berserk.
So I don’t completely blame the Jews when I read their reactions to what Jesus said and did.
But you see, that man Jesus died. He was crucified. They saw Him give up the ghost. True to it, He was raised again from the dead and they saw Him ascend into heaven. Either ways, He’s not here with us physically again.
No one can literally run to Him with their sick relative and hope that He’d come to their house like Jairus.
Seems those of us who didn’t live in His times are at a disadvantage. But not so.
You see, Jesus the man died but He left us His name.
What the man was to the disciples, the Name has become to us.
When He died, resurrected and ascended, God rewarded His obedience by giving Him a name that is exalted above every name. This name commands authority in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth. The name has absolute authority. Oh Hallelujah!
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
When Jesus the man walked the face of the earth, He could be in only one place at a time. But now, He’s given every believer His name as an inheritance. We carry Jesus with us through the gift of His name.
He inherited the name and because we are joint-heirs with Him(Rom 8:17) we inherited the name with Him!
The Name represents all His authority. And it’s your rightful inheritance.
Now when you pray, pray in the Name. That doesn’t mean to end your prayers with the name of Jesus. It means to pray in the consciousness of the authority in the name.
When you cast out devils, do it in the name of Jesus. They have to leave not because of you but because of the name.
Stop looking at your inadequacies. Stand in the authority of the name today!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the name of Jesus that has been given to us as believers. I thank you for the privilege and authority to use the Name of Jesus. I walk in victory, dominion, and dominion, making progress from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
