THE FULLNESS OF TIME
“But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,”
When you read through the Word of God, one thing is very clear – God works in times and seasons. Usually the prophets would declare God’s word and at a definite time, that Word finds fulfilment. Theologians named these dispensations according to Gods dealings with mankind. Without going into much details, the simplest and most common example is what we call the New and Old Testament dispensations. Same God but different dealings with mankind.
There’s however one dispensation that the birth of Jesus opened and still runs till date. Unfortunately it’s missed by most bible scholars and by extension God’s children the world over. You see when you study the account of the birth of Jesus, you can’t but be impressed by the precision with which prophecies from different prophets scattered around ancient Israel and Palestine found fulfilment in Jesus. Many of them prophesied privately with no knowledge of what the other fellow was saying, yet they were all given an aspect of the advent of the Christ.
“Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,”
“And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel…
And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.”
Matthew 2:5-6, 15
I’ve taken the liberty to share some of such scriptures with you. As little as where he’d be born, where he’d live, Herod’s’ fury and attendant genocide… all were in fulfilment of the prophetic word. Words spoken about eight hundred years ago were waiting and hanging on for fulfilment at the due season. That season was called by Paul ‘the fullness of times’. This season hasn’t ended. It’s a unique season where prophetic words are Yes and Amen.
In the fullness of times, you can step into prophecy Now not later!
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
2 Corinthians 1:20
Jesus was the ultimate fulfilment of prophecy and his birth introduced a new dispensation- the fullness, the completion of your times.
The Promises of God are Yea and Amen! Your healing is now. Your prosperity is now. Your breakthrough is now! Not tomorrow.
You are living in the fullness of times.
I thank God for i have been saved and called with a holy calling, not according to my works, but according to God’s purpose and grace which was given to me in Christ Jesus before time began. I declare that like Christ, i am a child of prophecy, walking in preordained paths that God has set before me. Therefore, everything that i require comes to me now, In Jesus Name, Amen.
