PUT UP A FIGHT
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12
The believer has a real enemy who will do all he can to distract, dissuade and destroy him if he can. Unfortunately, you have many believers who live as though they have none.
Now there’s a balance to this;
Some Christians live all their lives in fear of the enemy. They are so conscious of what he can do and the power he supposedly possesses that you wonder if they believe that God is all powerful. I remember once, while in secondary school, visiting a friend of mine. They were so devil-conscious in her house that they blessed and prayed over every piece of furniture a visitor touched! Even as a young lad, I knew this was wrong.
You however have other Christians who totally discountenance the reality of devils and demons. They say Satan is defeated and so there’s no need to think about them. They attribute everything to logic and principles. They’d as much tell you that only unbelievers can have problems with devils. How unfortunate!
Friends, devils are real. Demons are real. Demon oppression is real but the good news is that, more real is the power of God!
Stacked up against the believer are principalities, powers, rulers of the dark regions of this world and spiritual wickedness.
That’s a lot, thinking of it from a purely natural standpoint.
We must not play ignorant yet we must not become overly devil conscious. What we must become conscious of is the Absolute Authority we have in Christ.
By the conquest of the cross, Jesus has received all power and authority to Himself. The physical Jesus isn’t here anymore but He left His name with us. All the authority and the power of the man Jesus is now bequeathed in His name.
The name has taken the place of the man.
Should you notice that regardless of your prayers and covenant practices certain situations defy solution, pray much and check in your spirit to know if there’s a demon operation involved. Use your authority. Stand firm in the name of Jesus and rebuke the hand of Satan over that area of your life.
You can do this for addictions too. Usually they start out as simple habits but demons love addictions. Never forget that demons seek control, the Holy Ghost seeks surrender.
Anything that takes your liberty isn’t of God. Use your authority today and keep your ground. Put up a Fight!
Dear Father, I thank you for the authority you have given to us a believers. I recognise this authority and I stand firm as a soldier as I put on the whole armour of God. My faith is alive, and with it, I quench, neutralize, defuse, put out and extinguish all the fiery darts of the enemy, foiling and rendering his devices, manipulations, tricks, lies, schemes and stratagems ineffective, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
