NO FEAR ZONE!
“And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.” Philippians 1:28
Paul was a fighter. He fought several battles for the sake of the Gospel all his life. At different points he was faced with extreme conditions even death for the sake of the Gospel. Such a man who always returned victorious regardless of what the enemy threw at him definitely knows one or two things about victory!
And in this singular verse the man gives us his secret.
I particularly love how the Amplified Classic Version translates our text for the day;
“And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God.”
Your constancy and fearlessness is a clear sign to your enemy of his impending loss and destruction but a sure evidence of your salvation and deliverance.
The big word here is Fear.
Fear is a big deal in the kingdom. Satan cannot touch a believer who isn’t in fear in one form or the other.
Asides from fear which is an unpleasant emotion triggered by a threat or danger, it can manifest in several other ways.
Doubt is a form of fear. It’s fear that the Word will fail.
Envy and selfishness are forms of fear. It’s fear of being left behind, being the last.
Fear is so big that Paul made a profound statement in his letter to the Hebrews that I want us to see.
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” Hebrews 2:14-15
Jesus came, took on flesh and blood so as to defeat and destroy the devil who had the power of death but He did a bit more than that.
He delivers all who through ‘fear of death’ were in bondage all their lives.
Please note that no one is in bondage because of the power of death. Men are in bondage because of the fear of death.
The power of death and the devil has been destroyed. Jesus has won the victory. The only way men are in bondage to Satan is through fear.
Today you need to declare your life a ‘No Fear Zone!’
Don’t accommodate fear. Expel it with all seriousness. How? By violently declaring Gods word out of your mouth anytime fear creeps up within.
I refuse to give in to fear because God has not given unto me the Spirit of Fear, but of Love, of Power, and of a Sound Mind. I refuse to entertain thoughts of fear or defeat; my life is a No Fear Zone, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Thank You Dear Holy Spirit, for through the word of God, I dispel any form of doubts and fear in my life, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
