LIVE ABOVE THE SHADOWS
“…the path of the just is like a shining light, shines brighter…” Proverbs 4:18
In the bible you’ll find symbols and analogies used to represent people, entities and events. The symbols are not just chosen at random. They are chosen because of the characteristics they share with the one that is symbolized. An example is the ‘dove’ used as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The lamb symbolizes the purity of the Holy Spirit. The lamb, as a symbol for Jesus, showing His gentleness, and the sacrificial nature of His calling. Even Satan has symbols, which depicts where he and his works are present.
One of the major and recurrent symbols associated with the believer and even Christ in the scriptures is Light.
The believer is instructed to be the Light. To shine, to spread the Light and so on, meaning that something about Light is or must be common with and in a believer. In John 1:4, 8:12, light is associated with Life and the believer is instructed that for him to know and live in the Life of Christ, He must dwell in the Light of Christ.
To be in the Light of Christ is to constantly dwell in the reality of the Word of God (Psalms 119:105, 130). Practically, this means that the Word of God dwells in you so richly that it begins to dictate and influence your actions – your path. You are so familiar and in tune with the Word of God that your mind begins to interpret your experiences through it. When this happens, you become immune to the Devil’s attacks over your mind because the Word of God has now become a shield for you. When something is not right in your life, you are able to bring out your sword and fight the battles with the Light that is now in you.
This is how you live above the shadows of Life- by holding on to the Light of Christ.
Thank You Father, for I am one illuminated by Christ. I do not stumble in the dark for my path is bright and I see clearly. My abode has become the Light of Christ and I live far and above the shadows. In Jesus Name. Amen
