HOW GOD BLESSES
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” 1 Timothy 2:5
Sometime back I was in prayer and I heard the Lord say something to me that startled me to the very core of my being.
He said ‘I met man’s greatest need as a man not as God. Every answer and blessing you need is already in the earth in men around you.’
You see, firstly I wasn’t thinking of this at all. It wasn’t in my meditations. Secondly I had never heard anyone say anything like this!
But think of it, man’s greatest need was redemption from the tyranny of sin and spiritual death; the foul offsprings of Satan, whereby he kept man in bondage.
One would imagine that God will provide a solution to this as God. Isn’t He the Almighty? With one Word, one snap of the finger, He could have sorted it all out. But no He didn’t. Actually more like He couldn’t.
God had to become man to help man. Man’s greatest need was met by a man. How profound! That’s what Paul was saying in our text for the day. Notice He qualifies Christ Jesus, the mediator God provided to bridge the gap between Himself and His creation by the word ‘The Man’.
He described him as ‘the man’ and that was certainly intentional.
Answers are in men. Blessings are in men. Listings are in men. Promotions are in men.
The ability to discern men and relate accordingly to the grace they carry is the key to inexplicable liftings.
When Abraham saw the two angels who were walking around like mere men, he discerned that they weren’t ordinary. His discernment was what opened the door for Sarah to hear the Word of prophecy. Within nine months of this encounter their almost thirty years ordeal with barrenness was over!
Imagine that he had missed that moment. Only God knows how long more he’d have had to wait.
Jerusalem was judged and became desolate because the people didn’t discern who Jesus was and in so doing they missed their day of visitation. This was so important that Jesus actually wept over the city!
“And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.” Luke 19:41-44
The simple rule is to honor all men and maintain a posture of humility, sensitivity and watchfulness.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your wisdom which is at work in me today. I am sensitive in my spirit to discern those that God has caused to come in contact with me today and always. I honor all men and I maintain a posture of humility in all that I do. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
