HIS WILL, YOUR DESIRE
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2
Israel asked God for a king. They demanded to have one.
Two simple reasons were that they saw a failure in Samuel, the prophet God placed over them and they wanted to be like other nations. These two are still the major reasons believers trump Gods plans for their lives. Selah!
God tried talking them out of it. They refused. They were adamant.
Eventually God gave them what they wanted even when it wasn’t His will for them.
God can and will give you what you want even if it isn’t His will for your life… if you insist.
Never forget, ‘that you got it doesn’t mean God wanted it for you. In the kingdom, the end does not justify the means.’
Many pray and seek Gods face with a closed mind. They know exactly what they truly desire. And as is with God, He will not strive with you.
To truly discern the Lords voice at life’s turns, two things you should do amongst others:
First is to restore your soul to ‘factory settings’ by going back to the first word God spoke to you about that situation. Be willing to stay and do His word even if that’s all you ever hear. Variety isn’t the spice of our kingdom. Consistency is.
Secondly, worship the Lord and submit to His will for your life. Stop asking for His will or negotiating your desire.
Remember it’s living sacrifices that can discern His will and the thing with sacrifices is that they don’t have a will. You have to give up your will to discern His will.
You see, Gods plans for us are not grievous. They aren’t to harm us not to make our lives full and uninteresting. No!
Gods plans for you are perfect and properly suited for your life.
Every good and perfect gift comes from God. That includes His plans, paths and purposes for your life.
You have to present your life as a living sacrifice to be able to discern His will for your life.
God commanded fire and light which are tokens of divine approval and direction anytime sacrifices were offered.
We also only see the fire and light when there’s sacrifice.
Thank you dear Father for your Good and perfect plan for my life, I acknowledge and yield to your desires above mine, I declare that your will be done in my life and not mine. Through your Word and fellowship with the Spirit, you guide me to fulfil your destiny for me, bringing glory to your Name. I’m divinely helped of the Spirit, to make decisions and take actions which are in sync with your divine purpose, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
