FEAR HAS TORMENT
“And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” Hebrews 2:15-16
Faith is a spirit, fear is a spirit.
Faith is that spirit that causes you to believe without a doubt that God’s word would come true for you even when there is no physical evidence to that.
Fear works in the reverse- it is a wicked spirit that causes you to believe every single thing the devil says even though you have no evidence.
For example, some people have fear of the future. Nothing may be going on wrong in the present, in fact, all may be going on just perfect, but somewhere in their hearts, they believe there is evil around the corner.
What then happens is that it robs them off the benefits and joy of today and also steals the hope of a brighter tomorrow from them.
Like our anchor text says, many are subject to bondage not because of death itself but because of the fear of death!
Fear is not something that any believer must allow in their hearts and life because it grows.
I once heard a preacher say if you give the devil a foot hold in your life, its just a matter of time before he takes over your life. Do not permit fear in your heart for one minute.
When it shows up in your thoughts, you have to reply it with the word of God spoken out of your mouth.
For example a thought comes that as you go out today, it might be your last because a ghastly accident can happen from no where. Don’t allow that thought stay!
You don’t combat thoughts with thoughts, you combat thoughts with words!
You reply that thought with God’s word!
“No! I shall live and not die, I will declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living; God has given his angels charge over me, I will not as much as dash my feet against the stone; as the mountains surround Jerusalem so the Lord Surrounds me!”
You must learn to respond quickly with God’s word spoken out loud!
Just like Jesus when he was tempted of the devil in the wilderness- the Bible says in Matthew 4:3-4
“And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
Jesus did the exact same thing he answered and said!
Today if any wrong or fear filled thought comes your way, do what Jesus did- answer and say God’s word!
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word in my spirit today stirs faith and dispels fear and anxiety, in Jesus’ Name. I reject every thought of worry and anxiety for I know that my faith in your Word and in your mighty power, love and grace towards me is my victory over every circumstance in life, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
