EYES THAT SEE
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God”
When you go to God in prayers or supplication on a particular subject, what do you except to come out with?
For instance, a man is believing God for increase in his current state of life, he wants more from God, he goes into prayers and asks God for more, how do you suppose God answers that prayer?
God answers by granting Him light. Light is the inheritance of a believer. Light can also be called knowledge. It’s when the eyes of understanding of a person is opened by God’s Spirit, granting him the ability to know all that God has made available to him in the now and what to do to access them.
This is the greatest treasure of Heaven. It’s not money, or a car, a spouse, a house or a job because those things can be taken away from you. What God wants to give you is His light in your spirit that causes you to create anything and everything you need in your life here on earth. This cannot be taken from you, even when this light in you produces a billion dollars and it’s taken from you or you find yourself needing more, you can always go back to the factor (Gods word in your Spirit) and produce more!
No wonder it was one of the most documented prayers in the letters of Apostle Paul to the churches and I believe as it was vital for them to pray for seeing eyes in those days its much more vital for us to do the same in our day and time.
Jesus said in Mark 13:15,16
“For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.”
It’s the Christian who has eyes that see, and ears that hear, that is blessed! Never forget that.
Today make it a point of duty to pray our anchor text for yourself.
I declare that the eyes of my understanding is enlightened. I have eyes that see and ears that hear clearly. My heart and life is full of light; the light of God’s word that illuminates me. I thank you father for opening my eyes to see and my ears to hear clearly. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
