CALLED TO INNOVATE
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Romans 1:20
Man is a miracle. He’s God’s miracle of creation- the apex of all God’s creativity.
By making man in His own image and likeness, He’s granted us the ability to create like he does.
As you study how God creates, two things become clear to you, first is that He creates from non-existent material and second, he creates from existent material. However in Genesis 1, he did the former thrice and the later seven times showing His preference.
Whilst God can and does create from nonexistent material, calling into existence things that weren’t, He’s structured our world to function more by creating from existent material.
In today’s parlance, it’s called Innovation. This is basically looking at things with a different eye to renew, upgrade, improve or replace an already existing idea or product.
You’d notice that God could have spoken all creation into existence at once but he didn’t. Rather He created samples of all e.g Adam and Eve for mankind and then saddled them with the task of reproduction.
I believe that the church should lead the world in innovation. We were born for this! We carry wombs prepared for reproduction.
There are two keys for innovation:
Every adversity or challenge is seen as a blessing. It presents us with the opportunity to look at the situation with fresh eyes. Unfortunately many have been taught to see adversity as a totally bad thing. This attitude robs us of several opportunities to create and innovate.
The marriage of divine wisdom and relevant information. Here’s the big problem with the church. Let me say this, Divine wisdom alone won’t cut it. Even if you have within your heart the requisite wisdom, you need the relevant information to make it material.
This is what Paul was alluding to in our text for the day. The invisible things of God, the visions and ideas He’s placed in your heart are made visible, clearly seen by the things that are already made.
The believer must give himself to diligent study. Pray. Fast. Study the scriptures but don’t forget to read relevant materials too such that when God drops those powerful ideas in your heart, you have enough information to give it actionable substance.
I am a co-creator with God, called by God to bring innovations to the seemingly difficult and harsh realities in my world. I am filled with knowledge of witty inventions. I display the manifold and many sided wisdom of God, whose glory I am, and whose presence I carry to impact and beautify my world, in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
