CALL TO MINISTRY
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 1:9 KJV
A call into ministry is a sacred call and it is to be given utmost care and responsibility. How many of you agree that an employment is not a calling? These two things differ greatly. For it is possible to die for a calling, but not necessarily for an employment. Do you agree with me?
Scripture says God is faithful, by whom we are called into fellowship. This fellowship is not just a privilege, it is a calling you must answer. Every true believer is subject to answering this sacred calling.
And that is what was in Mark 3:14; “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach”, He says he called them that they might be with him.
So, ask yourself, have you answered that call? Or do you visit it every now and then? Periodic and infrequent visits. You have nice times this week, and the next you are away feeding off the memories of the good times of fellowship.
Can I say this to you? You will know when you are in fellowship, and it will be obvious to the people around you too. All that crankiness and confusion, all of it disappears.
When you fellowship long enough there will be evident proofs. Now, what are the first proofs of power? They are the weight of your words and the influence of your words.
Things around you begin to experience the force of your words because you are fellowshipping with the Lord. You could get to your office, and then somebody says, ‘You don’t want to know how I’m feeling’. And then you respond, ‘It is well’. That sounds cliche, until it is anointed by the Holy Spirit. Then the person comes back to you saying, ‘Actually I think it’s really well now’ A product of the weight of your words. For he that will fellowship long enough will be empowered by the Spirit.
What would be your response today? I say to you, say yes to this sacred call to fellowship.
Dear Father, Thank you for backing my words with authority and power. Situations change when I speak. Diseases dry up when I speak. In response to your call and by reason of my intimacy with you, I am empowered, energized and invigorated with the power of the Spirit. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
