AT ALL COST
“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.”Isaiah 53:10
Many years back, my wife and I were taking a stroll one evening and then we decided to walk through a mall.
I noticed that some stores were really crowded with people, pausing and pressing to buy as many things as possible.
And even with the number of customers they already had, they still positioned some of their staffs to stand outside and woo passers by to come in.
Then we got to some sections of the same mall that had no single customer in sight save the shop attendants.
What was more interesting for me was the fact that they didn’t even seem to be interested in trying to get customers!
So I told my wife that I wanted to go into one of those shops. She had a good laugh. She then said to me that those were luxury brand stores and they weren’t interested in the masses.
Well I was still curious. So, I went in. I picked up what I thought was a basic jacket and asked for the price. As you can imagine, I was both shocked and flabbergasted at the outrageous price the attendant mentioned. I asked again to be sure and she repeated same! Now I knew why the stores were scanty!
You see, your price determines your value. If life were a mall, it determines what store you are placed in.
The value of mankind is in the price God was willing to pay for her redemption. And not only was He willing to pay the price, He actually paid it!. Jesus was the price for our redemption. While that of itself is a big deal, the Prophet Isaiah points out a bigger fact; Gods attitude.
Isaiah states unequivocally that ‘it pleased the Lord to bruise him’. Most will assume that the Father must have been in pain and agony as His son went to the cross. No a million times no!
The scripture teaches that He was rejoicing. It was one of Gods happiest days. The angels couldn’t understand it. Everyone literally mourned that the son of God was delivered up to Satan in apparent defeat yet the Father rejoiced. If you were watching this drama unfold, you certainly would have called the Father callous.
But He wasn’t. His faith and hope was in the seed that would come through Him. The Father saw you and I, and it pleased Him to bruise the Son.
You are far more valuable than the goods of this world.
That’s the message we must take to the nations. We must tell them that the Father loves them so much and will do anything to get them back home.
We must tell them… At all cost!
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for your great love for me. Thank You for making me so special and blessed; I am your jewel of inestimable value! I walk with this consciousness now and forever. I’m seated with Christ, far above the corrupting influences of this world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
